Something WICKED this way comes!

A sweet and spooky Halloween to all of you! This is my favorite Holiday....does it show? Love to you all!
-"Lindsacula"-
hoo hoo hoo haa haa haa!

GORGEOUS do the Last raindrop!!

This wedding was absolutely stunning, and so bittersweet. Many of you may remember that freak monsoon we had here in southern Utah a while back, well this amazing wedding happen to be that very same day. The rain came so hard and fast we barely had time to pull in all in-inside, the paper lantern were swept away in 30mph winds and even a few chairs and table were turned over. Luckily we were able to get it in side and the guest had an AMAZING time! The Bride was stunning! It could have been raining Volkswagen Beetles and no one would have noticed when looking at how happy and in love these two were. Congratulations to them both, and remember the old saying, "the rougher the wedding, the sweeter the marriage!"

STYLE FILE: An Event of a Different Color

STYLE FILE

AN EVENT OF A DIFFERENT COLOR: by L. Madsen

I had a client ask me if there are colors that should NEVER be used together for an event. I thought for a few moments and a few of the “holiday-styled” color pallates came to mind. Orange and Black (Halloween) Red and Green (Christmas) and Pink and Red (Valentines) But then ideas started snowballing in my head of how you could take the “OH-no’s” and turn them in “WOW-yes’s” I came up with a few different looks that I really grew to love, and I wanted to share them. The experience showed me that with an open mind you can put any color mix together and have it turn out amazing! If you have a color challenge that you want a bit of help with let us and know and we will post a few ideas for you. Check back soon for a new “STYLE FILE” challenge.

Super Fun and easy to do....

TheKnot.com
Above is my little BRIDAL creation of myself.... yes I know that I have been married a long time, but this is a really fun, free program that "the knot" is offering.
Just go to
http://weddings.theknot.com/myinnerbride/Default.aspx
and you can use their program to design your own Bride. Choose her face, hair, body, dress, accessories...the works and then you can share it, email it or even post it on your own blog. It only took about 5 minutes, and it is fun to see everybodys creations. Send me a link to yours and I will post it on our website!

STYLE FILES 9-20-09

SEAFOAM GREEN, PEWTER AND SALMON

I really love this combination of soft yet intense colors. The creamy pinks, peaches, and greens can compliment a wide range of event dates and venue locations. Bits of lace, vintage containers, glass jars and ribbons can add help define your look without going over budget.

PINCH and PUSH: HOW to PINCH your pennies and WHERE to PUSH them to...

PINCH: Ask older relatives, check online, or search local thrift stores and yard sales for bits of lace, ribbon or perhaps a unique container for the centerpieces. Turn your project it into a scavenger hunt. Enlist your family members, bridal party and relatives, many will be more than happy to keep and eye out. Or take several weekends with your HUSBAND-to-BE and go "antiquing" or "yarding" (our term for yard sale-ing) When you see the finish project, it will be a tribute to the wonderful weekends you spent together.

DIY: How to save more $$$
Turn your found treasures into creative centerpieces by adding individual flowers, fall leaves, unique branches groupings of several stems of the same flower. Keep in mind that when you want to show off unique centerpiece containers, the arrangements need to be kept simple.

PUSH: With a theme and color palette this soft, there are a few places that are key.
Your invitations and corresponding stationary will be your guests first introduction to your wedding theme. Classic, elegant invitations can make a big difference. Spend a little extra and upgrade to a heavier paper with maybe a champange finish, or metallic lettering.
The other area that shouldn't be overlooked is the linens. When using a variety of simple centerpieces it is a good idea to keep the linens the same throughout. A pewter lame', heavy silk shantung or even a romantic print can make a world of difference. Have your Designer or Wedding coordinator do up a few tables with different linens so that you can get a visual on what a difference nice linens can make.

A wedding site Worth a Looky-loo

One of my new favorite Link is a company called
LOLLIPOP EVENTS & DESIGNS
They are super cute and querky company out of California, and they have an amazing trio of "Lollipop Ladies" that come up with killer ideas, revamped traditions, and a new way of looking at stlyes that have been around forever. Above is just a taste of what is on their site, but If you want to be uniquely inspired...... it is definitely worth a moment of your time.

Adorable Purple, Sage, and White Wedding

I really adore this wedding that Style Me Pretty shared.
The colors are soft and classic- and many of the details are simple but have quite an impact. The guests wishing tree, gorgeous candle lit pathway, and unique composite styled centerpieces are easy enough that any one could do, so that your budget can be used for those FABU paper lanterns and killer FRESH floral arrangements.

Super Helpful ColorWheel

I found this while browsing the world wide web, and found it both adorable and helpful when looking at different color schemes....just thought I would pass it along to all my favorite peeps out there...
xoxo

Pistachio, Mocha and Tangerine

I love this look from stylemepretty.com It is a very nontraditional color scheme for fall but with the right setting could really work for that SPRING bride that is looking for something Unique. Below, I have put together a few pictures floral ideas that I think would compliment this "STYLE FILE"

I love the Geometric shapes on the cake and the long rows of orange roses in the the centerpieces. It helps display a very structured look, without losing the elegance or softness.
